Frequently Asked Questions.
HOW DOES PRICING WORK?
Pricing for screen printing is based on 3 variables:
1. The number of colours in the print
2. The number of prints on the garment
3 The number of garments to be printed
In order for us to be able to give you an accurate estimate we need to know these variables.
We will always explain how to reduce costs by adjusting these variables.
DO YOU ONLY PRINT T-SHIRTS?
We do way more than just T-Shirts!
We can supply and print golf shirts, hoodies, bags, hats, sweats, undergarments, tank tops, bandanas, towels, jackets...the list goes on!
Did you know that we also offer embroidery?
Under one roof we offer design, screen printing, and embroidery...we have the equipment and we have the knowledge.
HOW LONG UNTIL MY ORDER IS FINISHED?
Our usual turnaround time is 5-10 business days.
Depending on our work load, rush orders can be arranged.
IS THERE A MINIMUM ORDER
We have a minimum of 24 pieces - per design. These 24 pieces can be any sizes, colour, etc.
WHAT ARE FILMS AND SCREEN SET UPS?
Films positives are your artwork, separated by colour. There will be one film for each colour in your artwork.
Film positives are usually a one-time-only fee, we keep them on file for the next time you print the same design.
Setting up the screens involves taking the film positives, and the screens - treated with UV sensitive emulsion - and exposing them one film/screen at a time.
When each colour of the artwork is exposed, we then set the screens up on a printing press and take care in lining up each colour so that your prints look spot on.
WHAT FILE FORMATS ARE ACCEPTABLE?
is created using mathematical points, lines, curves and shapes collectively to create an image. Vector graphics are a necessity in the screen printing industry, because the colours of a print must be separated in order to be printed. This type of art may also be enlarged to no limit, because the art is based on a mathematical equation.
Some common Vector art formats are: .ai, .cdr, .eps and .svg
is created in many different ways, and is the most common of computer image files; the end result being a picture file that is based on a collection of pixels. Some raster art is very high quality, with several hundred “dots per inch” or “dpi,” however it has many limitations. Raster art is difficult to separate colors from, and it may only be enlarged so far, because as the image gets bigger, the pixels become visible distorting the image.
Some common Raster art formats are: .jpg, .gif, .bmp, and .png
If your art is currently in a Raster format, such as a Photoshop file, you cannot make it Vector by simply “saving it” with a common vector format extension. The art must be physically color-separated or re-created in a Vector art program, such as Illustrator or Corel Draw.
If your artwork requires rebuilding or colour separation, it will be subject to artwork charges - a minimum of half an hour.
DO YOU ONLY PRINT ON GARMENTS?
For the most part...yes. But if you have another project in mind, give us a call. We've done chalkboards, drum kits, tablecloths, and even tables. Let us know what you have in mind for your next project and we'll either get it done or point you down the path you should follow
DO YOU SELL OLD EQUIPMENT?
No, Sorry. If we ever do have something to get rid of we might put it on our Facebook page
DO YOU DO CUSTOM ARTWORK?
Yes we have always done custom artwork. Our design rate is $50 per hour for our in house graphic artist to work with you to create the designs you want, or something better. If you want to buy the exclusive rights to the artwork a price can be negotiated.
